The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, has approved the immediate posting of seven Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs) to key strategic offices across the country.
A statement issued this Thursday by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, explained that the comprehensive redeployment is aimed at repositioning the Nigeria Police Force for enhanced efficiency and service delivery.
In addition, the IGP has directed the posting of 18 Commissioners of Police (CPs), who are due for promotion to the rank of AIGs pending Police Service Commission (PSC) approval, to various AIG offices nationwide.
“This comprehensive redeployment of senior officers is geared at effectively repositioning the force with a view to discharging its duties as expected,” the statement read.

IGP Egbetokun charged the newly posted senior officers to embrace their new responsibilities with utmost dedication, professionalism, and integrity. He urged them to provide strict supervision, ensure diligence in their duties, and align with the ongoing police reforms.
“These deployments are integral to the ongoing revitalization of the Nigeria Police Force, and the IGP is confident that they will contribute significantly to enhanced security and improved service delivery across the nation,” ACP Adejobi stated.
