Amotekun arrests suspects, deploys 2,000 personnel to secure region

The Ondo State Security Network Agency, also known as the Amotekun Corps, has caught 21 suspects for alleged involvement in various crimes, including kidnapping, theft, and attempted murder, across the state.

The Commander of the Amotekun Corps, Adetunji Adeleye, said the four suspects were arrested for alleged kidnapping, five for violating the anti-grazing law, and others for crimes ranging from destruction of property to conspiracy and theft.

Adeleye said the corps had mediated between herders and farmers to address conflicts arising from violations of the anti-grazing law.

Speaking on the corps’ commitment to maintaining peace in the state, Adeleye affirmed that Amotekun units in the South-West have deployed 2,000 personnel to secure the region against banditry, with Ondo State’s Amotekun Rangers actively patrolling the forests to deter criminal elements.

He added that the corps’ efforts have reduced breaches at the borders, saying that rangers are positioned across the state’s forests to tackle any bandit.

He appreciated the public for providing timely information and urged them to continue supporting us with actionable intelligence.
