Military to Intensify Crackdown on Terrorists – Army Chief

The Chief of Army Staff, Major General Olufemi Oluyede, has declared that terrorists in Nigeria will be completely neutralised.

Oluyede said it during his visit to the 35 Artillery Brigade, Alamala, in Abeokuta this Tuesday.

He reaffirmed the military’s commitment to national security, stating, “A considerable number of bandits have been eliminated, and their activities have been significantly curtailed, especially in the North, because we went after them.”

He further assured that new strategies are being adopted to ensure continued success in the fight against terrorism.

Oluyede emphasised the army’s commitment to improving soldiers’ welfare and operational capacity. “I am here primarily to check on my soldiers and assess their well-being. I also want to encourage them to perform their duties more effectively so that, together, we can make Nigeria safer and more secure,” he said.

During the visit, Oluyede inspected the quarter guard before addressing personnel, highlighting the army’s successes in eliminating bandits and curbing their activities.

The visit, accompanied by senior officials from force headquarters, underscores the Nigerian Army’s ongoing efforts to enhance security and maintain stability across the country.
