NDLEA is looking for a drug dealer named Sowunmi Ayodeji Kayode who hit an officer with his car and is now running away. He lives in Lekki Lagos..
According to a statement posted on the NDLEA Facebook page on Wednesday morning, the event occurred last weekend while agents were conducting a search of his home.
“Anti-narcotics officers of the Agency stormed the residence of the wanted drug dealer located at 2/3 Adetola Ayeni close, Lekki, Lagos for a search and possible arrest on Friday 18th August following credible intelligence that he was dealing in illicit drugs in the area,”
said the statement signed by the NDLEA Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi.
“Although he was not in the house when operatives entered it, he returned while a search of his apartment was underway.”
“In a dramatic twist, as soon as he drove into the premises and saw NDLEA officers, he engaged his car in reverse gear, knocked down one of the officers, and pulled down his gate before plunging the vehicle into the opposite compound’s fence.”
“The force of his car’s speed also pulled down the concrete wall of his neighbor’s compound, and he jumped out of the vehicle to escape.”
A comprehensive search of his flat, however, resulted in the discovery of 10.5 kilos of Loud, while the operative who was pushed down received many injuries throughout his body and a complex fracture on both of his legs, for which he is still hospitalized.
“Following the unfortunate development, NDLEA Chairman/CEO Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd) has directed the deployment of appropriate operational assets of the Agency to smoke out the wanted suspect from his hiding place.”
“He also approved adequate medical care for the injured officer, so that he can get back on his feet as soon as possible.”
