As truck drivers protest the killing of a colleague in Lagos, police and soldiers step in.
A joint police and military force has been dispatched to quiet the rioting in Lagos State’s Mile 2 region.
On Tuesday morning, truck drivers protested the murder of a colleague who was reportedly slain by personnel of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit, nicknamed Task Force.
The demonstrators lit bonfires on the major route, impeding vehicle traffic flow.
Sanity had since returned as the security operatives were seen manning strategic locations in the area.
The state Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, also visited the scene of the incident where he addressed some of the protesting truck drivers.
