Arrested: Five suspects apprehended during cult initiation ceremony at Lagos hotel

Five suspected cult members have been arrested by the Tolu Division of the Lagos State Police Command during an initiation ceremony in Ajegunle. The arrested individuals are identified as Peter Odumola, 19, Promise Benjamin, 20, Emmanuel Ikechuckwu, 19, Richards Adu, 18, and Abdullahi Nasiru, 20.

According to reports, the arrest was made following a distress call received by the Divisional Police Officer of Tolu Division, notifying them of suspected cultists forcing a new member into initiation at a local hotel.

In a statement, the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident and stated that the police successfully arrested the five suspects and rescued the new member from the initiation process. Hundeyin also mentioned that the suspects would be arraigned after the conclusion of the investigation.

The Commissioner of Police for Lagos State, Idowu Owohunwa, has urged residents to report any suspicious activities in their localities to assist in combating criminality in the state.
