The Katsina State Police Command has confirmed that suspected armed bandits killed 21 persons in an attack on Baure village, Safana local government area of the state.
The command’s spokesperson, Abubakar Aliyu, who made this known to newsmen this Friday, said the incident occurred on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.
Aliyu said that the bandits attacked a joint team of the Katsina State Community Watch Corps and vigilante members who were returning from a condolence visit on said date.
“The incident occurred at about 4:30 p.m., prompting a swift response from police operatives attached to Safana Divisional Headquarters, who rushed to the scene and restored normalcy,” he said.
Aliyu added that investigations have commenced to ensure the arrest of the perpetrators adding that further developments will be communicated in due course.
