Troops of the Defence Headquarters Special Operations Brigade have killed six terrorists during an organized operation against Lakurawa terrorists in the Gudu Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
The Coordinator of the Joint Media Coordination Centre, Operation Fansan Yamma, Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, said this to newsmen this Thursday. He said the operation led to an intense firefight where five soldiers lost their lives.
Abdullahi said items including four AK-47 rifles, 160 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, and one box of 12.7mm ammunition were collected from the operation.
He said despite the success of the operation, five gallant soldiers still lost their lives in the line of duty.
Abdullahi concluded that public cooperation is necessary in safeguarding lives and maintaining peace in our communities.
