Jigawa Police Command Strategizes for Peaceful Eid-El-Fitr Celebration

The Jigawa State Police Command has convened a high-level security meeting to ensure a peaceful and incident-free Eid-El-Fitr celebration across the state.

Jigawa Police Public Relations Officer, Shi’isu Adam, disclosed it in a statement this Wednesday. He said the meeting, chaired by Commissioner of Police Ahmad Abdullahi, brought together Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), and senior officers to map out security strategies for the festive period.

According to the statement, the meeting focused on operational preparedness, community engagement, and proactive security measures to prevent potential security breaches.

“As part of the security plan, all DPOs have been directed to submit their operational orders for review and approval,” Adam said.

He further disclosed that high-risk locations have been identified, and necessary security measures have been put in place to enhance surveillance and response capacity.

“The Commissioner of Police has also directed all DPOs and Area Commanders to remain within their respective divisions throughout the Sallah period to ensure effective supervision and coordination,” the statement added.

In addition, officers have been sensitized on curbing mob violence and homicide cases, while patrols and visibility policing will be intensified, particularly during tahajjud prayers, to ensure public safety.

The Commissioner urged residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station, stressing that community cooperation is essential for a safe and peaceful celebration.
