Lagos State Task Force Clears Rail Tracks to Restore Order
In a bid to restore order along the railway corridors in Lagos State, the Lagos State Task Force cleared trail tracks in the Agege area of the metropolis. Gbadeyan Abdulraheem, the Director of Press and Public Affairs for the task force, made the announcement in a statement released to journalists.
The operation, led by CSP Shola Jejeloye, Chairman of the agency, aimed to prioritize the safety and security of lives and property along the rail tracks. It sought to discourage any business activities on the tracks and prevent obstructions that could impede the smooth movement of trains.
Jejeloye emphasized the negative impact of traders setting up slums and makeshift buildings along the rail tracks, stating, “we will make sure that we leave no form of environmental crimes unchecked.”
To ensure a lasting impact, the ongoing enforcement efforts will continue for a month, dissuading traders from returning and allowing for the complete recovery of all rail line corridors.
