The Nigerian military has reaffirmed its commitment to eliminating notorious bandit leader Bello Turji.
Chief of Defence Operations, Major General Emeka Onumajuru, made it known on Channels TV’s The Morning Brief this Monday.
He emphasised that Turji is in hiding and under constant surveillance by the Armed Forces, saying that he is being actively tracked and will soon be neutralised.
Onumajuru also addressed claims that Turji is collecting taxes from residents in Sokoto State, urging communities to reject such demands and assuring them of military protection.
He called on residents to trust the military’s presence and not succumb to extortion by criminal groups.
