In airstrikes on the outskirts of Lake Chad in Borno State, the Nigerian Air Force claimed to have killed numerous terrorists from Boko Haram and the Islamic States of West Africa Province.
This was announced in a statement released on Monday in Abuja by Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, Director of Public Relations and Information for the NAF.
According to Gabkwet, the airstrikes destroyed the militants’ strategic logistical hub, buildings, and hideouts in the area.
The terrorists’ operations, which posed a threat to military formations and law-abiding Nigerians dwelling in the areas, were confirmed, and Tumbun Fulani and Tumbun Shitu were attacked between September 27 and September 30 as a result, he said.
Terrorists were seen at Tumbun Fulani putting jerrycans into two covert gun trucks.
NAF planes were then dispatched to intercept the area, which was thought to be a significant supply depot.
He said that following the attack, a Battle Damage Assessment showed that numerous terrorists had been killed and the gun trucks had been destroyed.
