NAF chief reiterates commitment to national security

The Chief of the Air Staff, Hasan Abubakar has reaffirmed the dedication of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) to national security to make the country safe for all.

Abubakar revealed this at the opening of the NAF Administration Personnel Seminar, this Wednesday in Abuja themed “Optimising Contemporary Human Resources to Enhance On-going Transformation Initiatives of the NAF”.

He highlighted the NAF’s unwavering dedication to the complete annihilation of terrorism and banditry, saying that the agency’s unrelenting efforts against criminal elements were a firm determination to preserve life and bring about peace.

He criticised issues like drug abuse, substance misuse, Absence Without Leave (AWOL), and the detrimental effects of social media, all of which have persisted in posing problems in Nigeria.

The seminar, he said, provides a great chance to assess the NAF’s current practices and consider new ways to address those issues.

Abubakar urged everyone to think creatively and offer workable solutions that can propel the service forward.

He said it was critical to redouble efforts to computerise the NAF Personnel Management Group for smooth record-keeping and to upgrade accommodation management software to ensure effective resource distribution.

He said that integrating data analytics to forecast manpower needs and putting in place digital platforms for training and career development would improve decision-making, optimise resource allocation, and increase overall operational efficiency.

Abubakar thanked President Bola Tinubu for his unwavering support of the NAF.
