Two suspects have been apprehended by the Nasarawa State Police Command for allegedly stealing a vehicle in the Lafia Local Government Area. The arrests were made after diligent efforts by the police officers attached to the command. The suspects, aged 49 and 38, managed to escape to Taraba and Plateau States but were eventually captured. According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel, the complaint was filed on July 19, 2023, stating that a Toyota Corolla, 2015 model had been given to a mechanic for repairs but was taken away to an unknown location by the suspect. Investigations conducted by the police led to the apprehension of the main suspect, Sani Labaran, in Gembu, Taraba State, and his accomplice, Ibeto Nwobodo, in Jos. During questioning, the suspects confessed to conspiring to sell the vehicle for N2.5 million. The state Commissioner of Police, Maiyaki Baba, commended the officers for their diligence and ordered that the suspects be prosecuted in court.
