NDA Assures Kaduna Residents Amid Ongoing Shooting Exercise

The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has advised residents of Afaka, Mando, Kauya, and nearby communities in Kaduna State not to panic during its Inter Battalion Obstacles Crossing Competition scheduled for Saturday, March 22, 2025.

In a statement issued by the Academy’s Public Relations Officer, Maj. Muhammad Maidawa, this Friday, the NDA explained that the event is a combat fitness exercise designed to test cadets’ ability to navigate and manoeuvre through battlefield obstacles. The competition will feature live firing exercises with heavy guns and light weapons.

Maj. Maidawa assured residents that the training is a routine part of cadet development and poses no threat to public safety. He appealed for understanding and cooperation, as gunshots may be heard during the exercise.

“We appreciate the continued support of the community and encourage everyone to stay safe and informed,” the statement added.
