The Nigerian Army has reiterated its commitment to investing in commanders and security agents to enhance operational effectiveness.
General Officer Commanding (GOC) 8 Division, Major General Ibikunle Ajose, said this Monday while declaring open the 8 Division Operations Planning Cadre themed Authentic Leadership at All Levels of Command: A Prerequisite for Enhanced Operational Effectiveness at the Division’s auditorium in Sokoto.
Ajose described the training as crucial for equipping officers and warrant officers with the necessary skills for operational planning and decision-making.
He stated that improving leadership skills, particularly among junior commanders, aligns with the Chief of Army Staff’s 2025 training objectives.
“The ability of commanders to make sound decisions, lead with confidence, and adapt to dynamic operational environments directly impacts mission success,” he noted.
Ajose further emphasised the need for inter-agency collaboration, pointing out that modern security challenges require joint efforts across various security agencies. The training will involve personnel from the Army, Police, NSCDC, Customs, Immigration, Correctional Service, DSS, and other agencies in Sokoto State.
The five-day training aims to enhance intelligence sharing, coordination, and strategic decision-making among security forces, reinforcing the Chief of Army Staff’s vision of a combat-ready and well-motivated force capable of addressing national security challenges.
