The Ogun State Command of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has arrested 25 illegal immigrants working as farm labourers in the Odogbolu Local Government Area.
In a statement on Thursday, the Ogun State Comptroller of the NIS, A.M. Akadri, confirmed the arrests and emphasised the agency’s resolve to curb illegal migration.
The arrested individuals, all male nationals of Benin Republic, were found at their hideout following intelligence reports. Investigations revealed that they had entered Nigeria through unauthorised routes and lacked valid travel documents or residence permits.
Following the development, the Comptroller General of Immigration, Kemi Nanna Nandap, has ordered the immediate repatriation of the migrants, reinforcing the agency’s commitment to national security and immigration law enforcement.
