
633 police constables have graduated from the Police Training College, Iperu, Ogun State, after completing six months of training.
During the passing-out parade, the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, represented by the state Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, delivered a charge.
The Inspector-General said the recruitment intends to address manpower shortages in the force.
The constables were urged to uphold exemplary conduct and contribute to the fight against crime across the country.
Egbetokun said the constables had been equipped with foundational police ethics, modern law enforcement principles, and public relations skills.
He highlighted his commitment to transforming the narrative of the rank and file, saying that the recruits are educated policemen who have been carefully selected across the geopolitical zones in Ogun State to address security challenges and serve as exemplary representatives of the police.
Among the dignitaries who attended the ceremony were the Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, represented by his Special Adviser on Security Matters, AIG Olushola Zubair (retd). Other attendees included heads of sister security agencies, such as the Nigerian Army, the Department of State Security, the Federal Road Safety Corps, and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency.
