Suspended Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Godwin Emefiele, has arrived at the Federal High Court in Lagos to face charges of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition. Emefiele was suspended by President Bola Tinubu on June 10 for an ongoing investigation into his office and planned reforms in the financial sector. The Department of State Services brought the charges against him, alleging that he possessed a single-barrelled shotgun and 23 rounds of live ammunition without a license. Emefiele was led into the court by a lady.
