Teenage Student Arrested for Methamphetamine Smuggling Attempt, Concealed in Crayfish Sack

A teenager named Benjamin Nnamani Daberechi, 19, has been arrested by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for attempting to smuggle Methamphetamine drugs concealed inside a sack of crayfish. The arrest was made during the outward clearance of passengers on a Turkish Airlines flight to Europe. Daberechi, who claimed to be a student on his way to Cyprus for studies, was found with 7.2 kilograms of the illicit substance. A field test confirmed that the substance was Methamphetamine. In another operation, the NDLEA intercepted a container with a consignment of 116.5 kilograms of Colorado, a potent strain of cannabis, hidden in bags among used vehicle parts. The container had arrived at the Tincan Port Command of the agency from Toronto, Canada. The joint examination with the Nigeria Customs, DSS, and other stakeholders led to the discovery of 233 parcels of the illicit substance. The NDLEA continues its efforts to combat drug smuggling and trafficking.
