The management of Bingham University in Nasarawa State has confirmed that three students of the institution, who were recently arrested in connection with a murder case, had previously been suspended. In a statement released by the University’s Director of Public Affairs, Daburi Misal, it was revealed that the alleged killing took place after the suspects had been suspended for drug abuse. The statement was issued in response to viral social media reports about the arrest of the suspects by the authorities of the Federal Capital Territory Police Command. The management of Bingham University expressed deep sadness over the situation and explained that the students were initially identified for drug possession and other illicit substances in March 2023, leading to their suspension from the university.
According to Garba, during the altercation, one of the suspects viciously cut the Bolt driver’s throat before fleeing the scene. The deceased, maintaining his innocence in regards to receiving an alert, tragically fell victim to this violent act. Garba further stated that all three suspects have confessed to the crime and will soon face charges for their actions.
