According to Russian official media, Putin intends to test the RS-28 Sarmat, also known as ‘Satan 2,’ the world’s biggest ballistic missile.
Despite incomplete testing, the missile, which has a top speed of 15,880 mph and weighs 208 tons, is expected to be sent on ‘combat duty.’
While the news was redacted, cached versions showed that the rocket will be tested over the South Pole.
The missile, which is intended for nuclear strikes on NATO countries, has had testing delays, with only one reported successful test in April 2022.
The proposal to put the missile on ‘combat duty’ in December has alarmed the West.
